My friend, A, had to go to the bathroom during class, and so she left her flour sack baby with another friend, L.
Pretending to be an intrusive slut-shaming person, I chided: “Excuse me, missy, where did that baby come from?!”
Without pause, L, an ace-spectrum person, responded: “…mitosis.”
It naturally followed that when A returned and claimed that she was “planning to turn it into cookies when the project’s done,” I told her, “Better yet, bake a cake!”
Flour sack babies? Why would you do that?
It’s for a child development class that some people take for the wellness requirement their senior year. Her baby was quite interesting, outfitted with a cool hat and the girl’s extensions.

Anybody else see this post everywhere?
That girl you called a slut in class today. She’s a virgin. The pregnant girl walking down the street. She got raped. The boy you called lame . He has to work every night to support his family. That girl you pushed down the other day. She’s already being abused at home. That girl you called fat. She’s starving herself. The old man you made fun of cause ugly scars. He fought for our country. The boy you madefun of for crying. His mother is dying. You think you know them . Guess what? You don’t (REPOST) if you are aqainst bullying. I bet 90% of you wont
No that’s not how it works. You don’t call a girl a slut because it’s sexist. You don’t judge anyone if their pregnant or because of their weight or for their scars because you don’t have any right. You don’t call people names or push them because it’s a cruel thing to do. You don’t make fun of someone crying because you don’t own other people’s emotions.
This damn post implies that it’s okay to call a girl fat if she isn’t anorexic, and well, if she’s pregnant, she better have been raped.
The reason that you shouldn’t be an asshole is because it is bad to be cruel, not because you might not know a detail about your victim that’ll make you look bad.

No, no it doesn’t. Expressing hate against a group out of ignorance is bad.
But ignorance doesn’t make someone inherently bad; it is bad in itself.
Sure, personally I think that everyone should support it. But does that make me inherently better than someone who doesn’t? An incredibly nice person who’s just ignorant? No.
Pity and educate the ignorant. Don’t hate. Hate’s what’s fueling everything. And hate arises from ignorance.
If you treat the ignorant as bad people, then they will remain ignorant, and you will remain hating them, and then we have a big mess and no change.
Racism doesn’t make a person “bad.” It’s a bad trait. It’s something that arises from ignorance and from how society—whether at a macro or a micro level—breeds ignorance. A child who grows up in a racist household will grow up with those beliefs. An ignorant little five year old isn’t evil.
Ignorance may not be unstoppable, but it isn’t completely a choice either. A person chooses not to be educated, but there are people who are in circumstances where education isn’t available.
Is a child soldier born into servitude for a terrorist cause a bad person? That’s a hard question to answer. They haven’t chosen their life, their circumstances, and their lack of hope to be educated out of their ignorance.
Likewise, there are people who have education available to them, and choose not to be educated, or to not listen to other ideas. And thus they remain ignorant. That ignorance is bad. It isn’t bliss, it’s bad, and breeds hate, the hate that drives everyone to this insanity.
Sure, in the eyes of many people, a terribly ignorant person is a “bad” person. They’re bad because they have such an ugly trait that degrades their quality of character. I’m not saying we should accept people who are belligerently ignorant.
Just that we all—in any issue—need to recognize that some people can’t be not ignorant. And that doesn’t make them bad people. That just makes them ignorant.
Please, let’s not drive away the potentially curious/educated by promoting hate and ignorance against people who are ignorant.

guys, here is why people keep saying that demisexuality is slut shaming:
greenchestnuts:
missvoltairine:
It’s not because anyone gives a shit about how you, personally, only want to have sex after forming an “emotional attachment” or w/e. In fact, it is precisely because no one cares about how you, personally, only want to have sex after forming an “emotional attachment” or w/e.
It’s not because anyone is trying to ~police~ your identity. It’s because “demisexuality”, the term, the identity, specifically creates distance between those who ID as such and those who are condemned widely by society for engaging in casual sex.
Except that the set of people who are demisexual and the set of people who engage in casual sex are not mutually exclusive, because orientation is not behavior.
In a world where people, especially women, are punished for being seen as sluts, the kind of attraction/sex relationship inherent in demisexuality is really seen as ideal.
No, it’s not. I lived it in precisely the kind of “True Love Waits,” “Abstinence Until Marriage” relationship that you’re talking about. I was raised as a conservative Christian and I was dating a conservative Christian man at the time. And my lack of sexual attraction to him— which, at the time, I characterized as demisexuality— still caused problems in our relationship. It was good that I wasn’t having sex with him… but it was bad that I wasn’t attracted to him.
The thing about demisexuality— the reason this is relevant to my experience, which I thought was demisexuality at the time— is that, if you’re only sexually attracted to people you form an emotional bond with, not q may mean not p but q sure doesn’t mean p. Forming an emotional bond with someone is no guarantee that you’ll be sexually attracted to them. And being a woman who’s not sexually attracted to her boyfriend? Is really not seen as ideal.
Amen.

Help
kai-kau:
I am getting forced out of my house soon because of being gay and transgender.
Mum: “You either need to stop acting like a boy and be a girl, or get out. You are ruining your little sister’s life with your choices. A six-year-old cannot go around and say, ‘I have a two brothers, one used to be a girl.’ That’s not right and God and I are disappointed in you.”
I don’t know what to really do. I just turned eighteen, and I don’t have a job yet since I am trying to finish up schooling.
If anyone has a room open or something in the Las Vegas area, please help.
I will try my damn hardest, even if it means I cannot go to college, to get a job and help pay bills if it is necessary.
But I cannot live here anymore because of my family.

A comic about the different types of attraction one might feel. I saw these floating around on tumblr. These were originally taken from a website about asexuality. Although, I think people who are not asexual feel these regularly too. There’s all kinds of attractions for all kinds of people. Enjoy.
The last one is just Tumblr in general.
